The role
Are you ready to play a key role in shaping our region's future? We have a newly created 5 year fixed-term position within our Land Use Planning team for a Development Contributions Administrator. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the development, implementation and management of contribution plans to support the provision of infrastructure to meet community needs. Your role will include monitoring the collection and expenditure of contributions, ensuring financial and reporting requirements are met, and providing guidance on the application of the plans. In addition to financial oversight, you will manage internal stakeholders and manage consultants to deliver new contributions plans to support the provision of infrastructure to meet community needs.
To succeed as a Development Contributions Administrator, you will need qualifications in accountancy, commerce, or related fields, and/or experience in managing development contributions within a Local Government context. Strong financial and administrative skills are essential to ensure compliance with regulations like the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, particularly regarding Section 7.11 and 7.12 contributions. You will need excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen eye for detail. The role also requires strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work effectively with developers, planners, and other stakeholders, ensuring that contributions are aligned with community priorities and infrastructure needs. Experience in managing Planning Agreements and Works-in-kind Agreements will be highly regarded.

Salary: Salary range $105,577 - $124,000 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Full Time 35 hours per week for a five-year fixed term contract.
